Welcome to the LBSDRC Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. This is important; we hope you will take time to read it carefully. And remember, you can see the information we store by logging in to your account.

Privacy Policy

There are different ways you can use our services – to join LBSDRC on-line, to pre-book classes at our shows and to have your names displayed on our results page for any classes you may be positioned in. As you use our services, we want you to be clear how we’re using your information.

Our Privacy Policy explains:

  • What information we collect and why we collect it.
  • How we use that information.
  • The choices we offer, including how to access and update information.
We’ve tried to keep it as simple as possible. Your privacy matters to LBSDRC so whether you are new to LBSDRC or a long-time user, please do take the time to get to know our practices – and if you have any questions contact us.

The information we collect

We collect information to provide better services to all LBSDRC members.

We collect information in the following way:

  • Information you give us. For example, when you pre-book classes on-line via our web site, when you join LBSDRC on-line, or when you join LBSDRC at a show.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect from you to maintain our membership records, issue you with your membership number, allow you to pre-book classes at member rates and keep you informed of any changes to our club rules and this privacy policy.

We may use your first name and family name for displaying class results on the pages of our web site.

We may use your date of birth (if under 16 years old) to ensure you are placed in the correct age group when displaying class results. We will not however display your actual date of birth.

At the point when you become a senior member, (over 16 years of age), we will automatically change your account to senior and delete your date of birth from our records.

When you contact LBSDRC, we may use your membership information for communication with you to help solve any issues you might be facing.

We may use your e-mail address to inform you about such things as upcoming changes or improvements if you have opted-in to e-mail communication.

Currently we don't use cookies on our web site but if we decide to do so in the future we will inform you. We may use information collected from those cookies to improve your user experience and the overall quality of our services.

Transparency and choice

People have different privacy concerns. Our goal is to be clear about what information we collect, so that you can make meaningful choices about how it is used. For example, you can:

  • Log in to your account and review all the details we store about you.
  • Control if you wish to be contacted by e-mail or not.
  • Delete your account – this action will also remove your membership from LBSDRC.

You may delete your account from LBSDRC at any time by logging in to your account on the LBSDRC web site and selecting DELECT ACCOUNT. You should be aware however that once you do this, you will no longer be a member of LBSDRC and will not be afforded the privileges of membership. You should also be aware that we do not offer refunds of any monies paid if you terminate your account.

You may also set your browser to block all cookies, including cookies associated with our services (if initiated), or to indicate when a cookie is being set by us. However, it’s important to remember that some of our services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.

Accessing and updating your personal information

Whenever you use our services, we aim to provide you with access to your personal information. If that information is wrong, we strive to give you ways to update it quickly or to delete it – unless we have to keep that information for legal purposes.

We aim to maintain our services in a manner that protects information from accidental or malicious destruction. Because of this, after you delete information from our services, we may not immediately delete residual copies from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems.

Information we share

We do not share personal information with companies, organisations and individuals outside of LBSDRC unless one of the following circumstances applies:

  • For legal reasons
  • We will share personal information with companies, organisations or individuals outside of LBSDRC if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

    • meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
    • enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
    • detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
    • protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of LBSDRC, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

Information security

We work hard to protect LBSDRC and our users from unauthorised access to or unauthorised alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. In particular:

  • We encrypt some data on our servers.
  • We review our information collection, storage and processing practices.
  • We restrict access to personal information to LBSDRC committee members, our web site creators/developers who need to know that information in order to improve or make changes to our web site, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

When this Privacy Policy applies

Our Privacy Policy applies to all of the services offered by LBSDRC.

Our Privacy Policy does not apply to services offered by other companies or individuals, including products or sites that may be displayed to you on the LBSDRC web site. Our Privacy Policy does not cover the information practices of other companies and organisations.

Compliance and cooperation with regulatory authorities

We regularly review our compliance with our Privacy Policy. If we receive a formal written complaint, we will contact the person who made the complaint to follow up. We work with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints.

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent. We will post any privacy policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, e-mail notification of privacy policy changes).
