What Makes LBSDRC Different
Class jumping

An early form of show jumping first was incorporated into the Olympic Games in 1900. Show jumping in its current format appeared in 1912 and has thrived ever since. Its recent popularity is due in part to its suitability as a spectator sport that is well adapted for viewing on television.

Class showing

Classes are divided into ridden and in-hand sections and there are many different classes for different horses and ponies. For example, there are classes for Mountain and moorland pony breeds, show hunters, show hacks, equitation, and various show pony classes.

Class gymkhana

Most of these events are designed to display controlled actions between horse and rider at speed, and demonstrate many skills. A variety of classes for all ages and abilities, allowing riders to compete at the speed level at which they are most capable and comfortable.

We'll help you improve your riding and enjoy our shows!
There is no substuite for experience. As with most things in life, the more you practice, the better you become. Riding, jumping and showing are no exception, but sometimes you are not quite sure you are doing it right in the first place! Here at LBSDRC there is always someone on-hand to advise you if you feel you have not quite got the hang of it. Simply ask a Committee member or a senior club memeber for some advice.
